Hosting is the quiet part of my client relationships, which is exactly how it should feel. The site stays online, forms keep working, updates get handled, and the owner knows who to contact when something changes.
Launch day is when the site becomes real
A website can look perfect in a preview and still fail the business if a form stops delivering, an SSL certificate lapses, or an important change sits untouched for three weeks. I stay close enough to the site to notice the practical stuff.
For most clients, the value is simple: they do not need to remember which vendor owns the domain, which plugin broke, or who has the latest logo. They can ask me.
What I keep an eye on
The exact maintenance depends on how the site is built, but I focus on the points where a technical issue becomes a business issue.
- Uptime, SSL, domains, forms, and important integrations
- Framework, dependency, and security updates when applicable
- Content changes, new services, photos, and staff information
- Performance, broken links, and obvious search-indexing problems
I prefer continuity
When I know why the site was built a certain way, updates are faster and less risky. I am not protective about ownership; the client should own the business assets. I simply like being available so a useful site does not slowly become outdated through neglect.
